our roots

It has been a long road to the creation of Rooted Free - and one can only hope, a long road ahead! We've long dreamed of living as the stewards of a little farmstead, and long envisioned doing so in the freedom loving communities of New Hampshire.

ROOTS

My name is Lauren, and I'm a crunchy, woo-woo, barefoot, food-snob witchy weirdo manifesting mamapreneur. But I wasn't always so cool. It was a gradual process from conventional eating to passionate locavore; from mainstream to question everything; from dependence to empowered self-sufficiency. The more I learned, the more clear it became that clean, local foods were essential to physical and mental health. And the more clear it became that community was essential to a free and aligned life. 

Over the years I have been a camp director, an environmental educator, a birth doula and childbirth educator, and a distributor of plant based healing products. I have spoken at events about the censored benefits of healing plants and the fear tactics of the healthcare system. I founded and ran Farmer at the Door, a home grocery delivery service of locally produced, organic foods. And I have been a learner, willing to undo everything I thought I knew in order to ever expand.

WINGS

In 2021, dreams sprouted wings and Rooted Free was born. 

Through following my callings and trusting the process, a lovely little New Hampshire farm has found me, and these dreams have taken root in its gardens. 

There has never been a more important time to pour love into our local food and resource systems, and to keep those systems free and open. Never have I felt so passionate about empowering people with skills and confidence. And now, I am also answering the call for guidance in building freedom from the inside out with the addition of circles and retreats. History does not need to repeat itself if we can break the cycles!

Rooted is a member of the Free State Food Network,  a voluntary, membership-based, trade association representing the freedom loving food industry in New Hampshire.
